Petersburg, VA - Norfolk Southern Thoroughbred Bulk Terminal Facility Added to PTL Transload Network

The Petersburg, Virginia, Norfolk Southern Thoroughbred Bulk Terminal (NS TBT) is the newest addition to the Precision Terminal Logistics (PTL) network. Facility operations have been assigned to PTL effective August 17.

“We are pleased to expand our relationship with the Norfolk Southern TBT team and their transload customers through the operation of the Petersburg, VA location. PTL will provide best-in-class transload operations that are catered to each specific customer’s unique supply chain needs and their specific product transfer requirements, including meeting the highest transload safety standards,” said David Kearney, CEO of PTL.

“Petersburg strengthens our growing footprint with Norfolk Southern and gives our customers greater flexibility in a key Mid-Atlantic market,” said Jason Hodge, Vice President of Commercial Development at PTL. “With direct access to I-95 and the ability to handle a wide range of commodities, this terminal creates new opportunities for both existing and prospective shippers.”

The Petersburg facility is equipped to handle a variety of commodities including refined fuels, aggregates, dry bulk, food-grade materials, liquid bulk, lumber, steel, and more. It houses 76 railcar spots, a certified truck scale, and three acres of ground storage. It is also located near a critical trucking corridor, I-95, allowing access to additional markets.
